Marijke Speelberg

Born in Weert twenty years ago, Marijke soon moved to other parts of the world in search of warmer weathers. Upon her return from Argentina in 2005, she joined the International School of The Hague (ISH), where she obtained the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma. It was at ISH where Marijke caught the MUN-bug. Participation in over five conferences including MUNISH, THIMUN and HMUN, tipped the balance for her choice of study at the liberal arts and sciences college Roosevelt Academy (RA) in Middelburg, Zeeland. As a Social Science major, she combines studies in International Politics, International Law and Social Psychology with her minor in rhetoric and argumentation. In pursuit of her studies, she did not cease from participating in MUNs. In addition to speaking, lobbying, and compromising at LIMUN, WorldMUN, TEIMUN and GlobalMUN, she has also chaired the Security Council at UNISUN and will be chairing the same committee at UNISCA in January 2010.

Marijke is extremely looking forward to returning to TEIMUN this summer as co-chair of the General Assembly. By far one of the most memorable conferences attended, she encourages you to participate and be a part of this truly unique experience.
